- The Disability Information & Communication Exchange in NSW offers a large online database of legislation, news stories and other issues affecting the disabled.

- The Aussie version of Google indexes billions of web pages, and its search functions work fine for older computers and text browsers.

- Project Gutenberg offers tens of thousands of books and public documents for free download. Almost all are in text format and therefore readable on any computer.

- Amnesty International is famed for speaking out on behalf of oppressed and victimised individuals and groups throughout the world.

- The Any Browser organization is a strong advocate for open Internet standards and accessibility of information on the Internet. Much of their philosophy centres on the special needs of the disabled and disadvantaged.

- The huge Empowerment Zone offers a lot of information for the disabled and disadvantaged. There's also truckloads of information of more general interest. Some of what's offered, however, relates specifically to the USA.

- Technical Aid to the Disabled Australia now offers a low-cost dial-up internet access service to people who have a Disability Service Pension, Aged Pension or DVA Entitlement Card.
Fees for the service are $5.50 per month. The service includes unlimited downloads, no setup fees, no annual fees, local call anywhere in Australia and flexible contract period.

- The Office Of Disability (Dept of Family and Community Services) provides a link for
the disability community to express their views and ideas to Government and
vice-versa. The Office also has an important role in the co-ordination of
disability policy across the Commonwealth and is committed to encouraging
equal access to services, facilities and programs for all.

- Centrelink is responsible for payment and administration of disability pensions, allowances, and other
forms of public welfare.

State (South Australia):
- The State Government-funded Intellectual Disability Services Council has direct responsibility for the overall coordination, planning & development of services for the intellectually disabled in South Australia.
