The CLP's objectives
In seeking to address its Mission Statement the CLP's objectives are:
- To enable people to live within the community with the greatest degree of dignity and independence, in accommodation as typical to that any other person enjoys.
- To respond to the needs of the people using the service rather than to the needs of the organisation.
- To promote the development and acquisition of relationships, roles of importance, valued community lifestyles, and skills.
- To promote and support a wide range of community integrated opportunities according to individual and family needs.
- To promote, support and be involved in the development of policies which ensure coordinated and accessible services for people in the southern region (of Adelaide).
- To promote and advocate for access to community resources and services for people ensuring that the same opportunities are available as for any other person in the community.
- To enable, establish, enhance maintain and/or defend valued social roles for people, particularly for those at value risk, by using, as much as possible, culturally valued means.
- To liaise closely and consult with concerned people, appropriate parent groups and other service providers to ensure that the policies and standards of the Association are regularly evaluated and reviewed.
- To promote the philosophy and practise of community inclusion for people through advocacy, education and positive examples.
- To develop and maintain a close working relationship with funding bodies and to ensure that the Project continues to be fully funded.
- To be innovative and provide a pro-active rather than a crisis driven/oriented service.
- To promote the participation of individuals and families at all levels of decision-making within the organisation.
- To do all such other things as may be incidental to the attainment of such objects.
