To provide a quality service in the southern region which enables people who have an intellectual and/or multiple disabilities to achieve a purposeful and valued community life, through assisting people to have:
They desperately wanted a service that would support their son or daughter with an intellectual and/or multiple disability to continue living in their local community in adulthood. They wanted a service who would help secure a lifestyle and future for their son/daughter with a disability which was like those of other family members. They also
wanted to feel reassured that this lifestyle would continue when they were no longer around.
At the time, no such service existed. Hence these parents worked tirelessly to create the CLP.
Our Mission
The Community Living Project (CLP) incorporated in 1985 because of the leadership shown by a small group of parents in the southern region of Adelaide (Australia); who had banded together as the Parents Of Disabled (South) Group.
